 Lihong Gao, female, born in 1970, professor and Ph.D. supervisor, is now the head of Development Planning Department and the director of Discipline Construction Office of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the academic leader of environmental resources law discipline and the head of the supervisory group. She is the second "Top Ten Young and Middle-aged Outstanding Jurists" in Hubei Province, and the host of Hubei Famous Teacher Studio. She received her Bachelor's degree in Law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (1992), Master's degree in Environmental and Resource Protection from Wuhan University (1999) and Doctor's degree (2003), and has been teaching at the Law School of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law since 1992. She has served as Dean of the Department of Economic Law (2004), Vice Dean of the Law School (2007), Director of the Library (2013), Director of the Department of Development Planning and Director of the Discipline Construction Office (2016).

 Professor Gao has long been engaged in the research of environmental resources jurisprudence, and has published dozens of papers in Guangming Daily (Theory Edition), Legal Business Research, Law, Modern Law, etc. Her main representative works include: "Research on the Legal Status of Animals" (monograph), "Animals are not things, what are they? (monograph), "The Value Orientation of Environmental Law", "The Ethical Foundation of Environmental Resources Law", etc. She has presided over or participated in many scientific research projects of the National Social Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Water Resources, etc. She has received many honors and awards, such as the 10th Wuhan Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission, Ministry of Water Resources, and the Zhongda Environmental Law Young Scholar Award. She is also the vice president of the China Environmental Resources Law Research Association, the vice chairman of the Heavy Metal Pollution Prevention Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Science, the president of the Environmental Resources Law Research Association of the Hubei Provincial Law Society, the president of the Environmental Resources Law Research Association of the Wuhan Law Society, the director of the Hubei Provincial Law Society, the director of the China Energy Law Society, and the legal advisor expert of the Hubei Provincial People's Government.
